Lifeplan 5:2 Diet Support capsules have been designed for use by people who are practicing Michael Mosley’s 5:2 Diet.
Although the 5:2 diet can produce some very tangible weight loss results it is hard diet to stick to and the hunger pangs associated with the regimen make it all too easy for 5:2 dieters to throw in the towel and write the diet off as being too hard.
Lifeplan claim their capsules make 5:2 dieting easier by suppressing the appetite.
What is the 5:2 Diet?
The 5:2 Diet is an intermittent fasting method. Dieters eat normally for five days out of every week, after which they must fast two days.
5:2 Diet creator, Dr. Brian Mosley, claims this form of on-off eating pattern is more compatible with the human metabolism than so called ‘normal eating patterns’ because it is similar to the kind of eating pattern early man was forced to endure. After a kill there would be days of plenty, but days of poor hunting were sure to follow and Mosley believes the human body was forced to adapt to such an irregular eating schedule.
Mosley’s theory makes sense, and many people have sustained very impressive weight losses by living the 5:2 way, but an ice-age has come and gone since early man walked the earth and present day men (and women) who try intermittent fasting often find their hunger pangs soon become a diet killer.
How the Capsules Work
Each Lifeplan 5:2 Diet Support Capsule contains 500g of glucomannan. This is an increasingly popular appetite suppressing ingredient that often appears on the labels of weight loss formulations as ‘konjac’, ‘ konjac fibers’, or ‘konjac root’.
Glucomannan is sourced from the roots of a perennial plant found growing in Asia and is sometimes used in vegan recipes that require a suitable alternative to gelatin. The roots are very fibrous in nature and when the fibers come in contact with water they have the ability to swell up and increase their volume by up to 17 times. It is this ability that makes the ingredient such an effective appetite suppressing tool. It is also the reason why Lifeplan recommend the consumption of two glasses of water with each dose of capsules.
After the capsules have been swallowed the ingested water causes the Glucomannan fibers to swell. This creates a feeling of fullness in the stomach that remove the desire for food and effectively suppresses the appetite.
Lifeplan 5:2 Diet Support Pros & Cons
At the time of this review customer feedback was in short supply. The available feedback is admittedly very good, but the amount available is far too limited to provide an accurate picture of product potential:
Lifeplan do not appear to offer a money back guarantee.
Side Effects & Health Issues
Lifeplan’s blend relies on just one ingredient—glucomannan—and it is not known to be problematic so the chances of side effects are unlikely. As with any form of supplementation though, pregnant and nursing mothers should seek medical advice before use. The same advice is offered to anyone who has any health issues or concerns.
Where To Buy – Pricing & Availability
Lifeplan 5:2 Diet Support capsules can be purchased from the manufacturer’s website and from a number of independent suppliers. The product can also be found listed on Amazon and eBay and British 5:2 dieters should also be able to find a few bottles sitting on the shelves of their local Holland and Barrett store.
